A Lazy Day at Home

Sunday, December 7, 2008

Just like every other time when we get home it’s a day of mail and laundry. I brought back enough staples that I don’t need to go right out and get groceries. I had just enough celery, carrots and onions to add to the chunk of meat that was in the freezer to start up a nice pot of soup. And I feel just domestic enough today to try making homemade noodles. I found this recipe and it sounds easy enough. I remember my Grandma always making noodles for soup and they were so good! I loved the extra thick ones.

Things look much different here than when we left or for that matter from when we left the cabin. As we drove home yesterday, the further south we went the more snow there was. Then we got a couple more inches last night and it’s still flaking out there. I’m not complaining though! I know it’s too soon to say anything bad about snow or it will be a very, very long winter.

Vintage Christmas Card s (14) While I was at the cabin I made it my project to scan all the old vintage Christmas cards I bought at that antique store this fall. I think they look marvelous and if you’d like to see them, you can view them by clicking right here.

I said it was a lazy day today…now I’m going to get myself dressed and go take Molly for a walk…yeah, I know it’s after 2:00!
