I guess it's been awhile since I updated this, but there hasn't been much to talk about. The title says it all...
The same ol' weather, but it's been gorgeous. Sunny, dry and highs in the 70's. Almost too much of a good thing. We really need some rain.
The same ol' deer, bunnies, squirrels and raccoons are coming in to get their pictures taken on the trail cam. Even though there's lots of acorns out there, they still come by to see if there's any corn.
The same ol' roads except they've gotten even dustier due to the dry conditions.
Even the same ol' fall color. Without the cool temperatures, the leaves have stalled out. The maples are red and dropping their leaves, but most of the rest of the trees are still mainly green.
Same ol' story about Jim and his eye doctor appointments. Yup, it's been six weeks and tomorrow he goes back for hopefully the last time. He left this morning and will be back up here on Wednesday. In the mean time, Molly and I are holding down the fort.
By no means am I complaining, just explaining that there's been nothing exciting to blog about. Life in the northland is still the best.
But I could tell you about our 30 year old refrigerator that pooped out on us last week. We had to make an emergency trip to Superior to get a new one. Who knew refrigerators came in so many different sizes and colors...we sure didn't. Anyway, here's the new Whirlpool fridge with the freezer on the bottom. Boy, that's a great improvement over the old one. It even matches the stove I got last fall.
We found out our neighbor Dave, has a deal worked out with a recycling guy. He pays Dave for old refrigerators. So instead of us having to pay $20-$25 to get rid of the old one, all Jim had to do was haul it up the road and put it in the field with the other ones. The recycling guy comes by every other week or so, hauls away whatever Dave has and some money is exchanged.
We (Molly and I) went to the laundromat this morning. Same ol' laundromat we always go to but today I met the laundrocat that lives there. Someone leaves food and water for it and a lady told me she's hoping someone will adopt it. Until that happens it looks like this cat is quite comfortable living in the warmth of the friendly small town laundromat.
