The rain barrels have been emptied and put out of sight. The shower shelter is folded up and put into the shed. The pond is almost all frozen and covered with a light dusting of snow...that hasn't melted in a couple days.
Deer hunting up here has ended and some of our favorite visitors survived.
Today we put out extra corn and seed for the birds, bunnies, squirrels and deer. Jim's changing the oil in the Toyota and it will spend the winter down by Kenny and the woodpile.
It's just time to go back home and stay put for awhile. This has been a great year up here...well, from March until now. We've seen more animals and birds than anyone could ever expect. The weather was strange at times, but we really couldn't complain. It was cold when it should've been hot and warm when it was supposed to be cool. So things got a little mixed up.
We did a few upgrades...new TV, refrigerator and I got a new indoor johnny. Tomorrow we'll load up all the stuff that has to go back home and pull the plug on our little cabin in the big woods. The weather forecast is for much cooler temperatures and of course some snow. It's definitely time to go home.
