Today I finally got the tree up and some decorations out.  Like most everyone, we’ve accumulated way too much Christmas stuff and every year I put out less and less of it.  I have one box full of ornaments that always go on the tree and a few more things that get dragged out every year.  Here are a couple of my favorite Christmas things.

Well actually a bowl of hot soup is good most anytime.  Today I decided to use up the rest of the leftover turkey (fyi, I cooked it last week, not leftover from Thanksgiving) and make a pot of White Chili. Oooo, this is good soup.  It's something you just have to try.  It's way better than it sounds.

Usually, November is cloudy, cold and wet, so I don't notice the long shadows up here. The sun's angle is so low that it's almost always shining right in my eyes. The window in front of the kitchen sink faces south. It was sunny for awhile that morning and some of it melted, but it turned cloudy, windy and very unseasonably cold.
